Pastor York was saved at a young age and for the most part grew up in a Christian home. After graduating from Heritage Christian School in Cleveland, Ohio he attended Hyles-Anderson College. Working in the inner city of Chicago in the bus ministry he was eventually given the responsibility of Division Leader. On several occasions he saw over one thousand in attendance from his Division at First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana.
Graduating in 1992 he married his college sweetheart Laura Sanders from Lewis Avenue Baptist Church in Temperence, Michigan. After a brief period of ministry at the Cleveland Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio, he founded the New Testament Baptist Church in Twinsburg, Ohio. Starting with just two families in June of 1993, the church grew rapidly and eventually moved to its present location in Northfield.
In May of 2010 Pastor York accepted the call from First Baptist Church of Streetsboro to become the Pastor. The following week the congregation of New Testament Baptist Church followed in joining the membership of the First Baptist Church.
Today, New Testament Baptist Church is going strong with Pastor Brian Miller leading the way in Northfield. First Baptist Church is a growing church and an exciting place to serve the Lord.
Known for his practical and compassionate preaching Pastor York has been faithful to family and church for more than sixteen years.
