What to Expect

What to Expect

Welcome to First Baptist Church of Streetsboro! We are glad that you are considering joining us for worship and becoming a part of our church community. As a first-time visitor, we understand that you may have questions about what to expect when you attend our services. Here are some things to know before you walk through our doors:

  • Our Sunday morning service is about one hour long, from 11am until about noon. Our midweek service and classes are 90 minutes – Wed. evenings from 7pm until 8:30pm. Sunday School and small groups meet from 10a-10:50a on Sunday morning as well.
  • Our worship is generally about 15-20 minutes at the beginning of service. We focus on music that edifies, encourages and emphasizes sound doctrine (teaching) (see Eph. 5:19). We sing songs that fit that description…from traditional hymns to contemporary worship music. We generally have a piano, guitar and a team leading our worship (although that can vary from week to week).
  • We have no dress code for services. If you’re planning on joining us come in whatever you would normally wear. Casual, business casual or “Sunday best” are all welcome here.
  • Nursery is available for all scheduled services – for the Sunday School/small group hour on Sunday morning at 10am, the main weekly service Sunday morning at 11am and on Wednesday evenings from 7-8:30pm. Nursery is for newborns through four years of age.
  • Elementary age students and teenagers have their own classes Sunday morning at 10am, as well as Jr. Church (5yo through 11yo) and Teen Church (12yo-18yo) at 11am on Sunday.
  • As soon as you walk in the front door you’ll be greeted by our welcome team who can help you get kids to the nursery or class and answer any questions you may have. If you let us know you are coming we’ll even have seats saved for you.
